Mahindra two-wheelers is set to launch a low-cost avatar of its flagship motorcycle Mojo in the next few days. The said model is being christened Mahindra Mojo UT300. Express Drives has just confirmed from its sources close to the development that Mahindra has already started dispatching the units of Mahindra Mojo UT300 to its dealerships across India. Also, the bookings for upcoming Mahindra Mojo UT300 have commenced at selected outlets in the country at a token amount of Rs 5,000. Not only this, our sources have also reported that the motorcycle will be launched in two colours of red and blue. The deliveries of the Mahindra Mojo UT300 will take place by the first week of February 2018. The new Mahindra Mojo UT300 draws its power from the same 295cc engine that runs the existing model. However, the company has fitted a carburetor this time instead of fuel injection system in favour of cost-cutting. Having said that, the power and torque outputs of the Mahindra Mojo UT300 may get slightly revised that currently stand at 27 hp and 30 Nm respectively.

Another major change in the new Mahindra Mojo UT300 is the inclusion of conventional telescopic forks at the front and hence, the bike ditches the inverted forks that come with the present day model. The company has also eliminated one silencer of the motorcycle and hence, instead of twin exhausts, the UT300 version will be seen with a single unit only. The said model will come with the same 110/70-ZR17 front and 150/60-ZR17 rear size tyres. However, instead of the grippy Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres, the UT300 will have to do with the MRF rubber. Also, there will not be any LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) on the motorcycle.

The new Mahindra Mojo UT300 will challenge the likes of Bajaj Dominar 400 more confidently. The bike is currently retailed in India at a price of Rs 1.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The low-cost UT300 version should be at least Rs 20,000 cheaper and hence, it is expected to be launched at a price of close to Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
