Kawasaki ER-6n

Kawasaki India has announced tasteful discounts on the ER-6n and the Z250. The ER-6n will now be cheaper by Rs 1 lakh and the Z250 will come at a price tag smaller by Rs 50000. The offre is applicable to motorcycles that carry BSIII compliant engines. As the BSIV emission norms will be in place starting 1st April, companies have been announcing big discounts on their vehicles that have BSIII engines in order to clear out stock. Time taken to deliver the motorcycles would stretch from 15-20 days, showrooms say. The offer is valid till the end of this month.

The ER-6n is a naked sports motorcycle that is powered by a 649cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke DOHC, parallel-twin engine which produces 71.1 hp at 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 64Nm at 7000 rpm. Braking duties are done by dual semi-floating 300mm petal discs at the front and a single 220mm petal disc at the rear. It has been priced at Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom) in India, and with this discount the price for a BSIII ER-6n comes down by Rs 1 lakh.

A notable thing here is that those considering to buy a 300cc, the Ninja 300, now have a chance to upgrade to the ER-6n within this limited time. The Ninja 300 is priced at Rs 3,78,273 onwards (ex-showroom, Mumbai), and considering the discount on the 650cc motorcycle, the price difference shouldn't be much of a burden on someone who is already resolved to spend over Rs 3.78 lakh. Besides, at an extra price of about Rs 72,000, you could bring home a more powerful motorcycle. The Ninja 300 produces 39 bhp, whereas the ER-6n would give double that power at 71.1 bhp.

Kawasaki Z250

Kawasaki 250 is a street-fighter, that is powered by a 249cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected, 4-stroke parallel twin engine which develops 31.5 hp at 11,000rpm and a peak torque of 21Nm at 10,000rpm. It gets a 290mm petal disc at the front and a 220mm petal disc at the rear. The Z250 is currently priced at Rs 3.22 lakh and has an ongoing limited time discount of Rs 50000, as confirmed by a showroom in New Delhi.
