Kawasaki Motors is celebrating its 120th anniversary and to further spread the celebration, the two-wheeler maker has slashed the price of its Kawasaki Ninja 650 in India. The price of the sports tourer has been reduced by Rs. 40,000, which now costs at Rs. 4,97,420, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Earlier priced at Rs. 5,37,420, ex-showroom, Delhi, the price discount is offered only on the 2015 Ninja 650 in the country, effective from August 2016. This move by the automaker has been taken to clear its old stock and to expand its customer base by offering riders who are looking for mid-weight models in the country.
Technically, the more affordable Ninja 650 will remain same. It will continue to be powered by a 649cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder, engine producing 70 bhp of power and 64 Nm of torque, coupled with a 6-speed transmission. The Kawasaki Ninja 650 is locally assembled in India.
This Ninja 650 takes its design cues from the Ninja super sports model that makes it look more aggressive and sporty. The bike uses narrow and lightweight body frame for the placement of the parallel-twin engine. The new frame delivers lighter and easier handling, the company claims.
The mid-weight motorcycle comes with a seat height of 805mm and has a ground clearance of 130mm. It comes equipped with features like large disc brakes at both the ends. However, the Japanese two-wheeler maker does not offer the bike with ABS safety equipment.
