Kawasaki India has added two new off-road motorcycles in its product portfolio- KX450F and KLX 450R. The KX450F is priced at Rs 7.97 lakh, while the KLX450R is available at Rs 8.49 lakh, both the prices being ex-showroom Delhi. The KX450 is powered by a 449cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine mated to a 5-speed transmission. The company claims the motorcycle to be on the lighter side in its segment as it weighs just 108.8 kg. The KX450F measures 2,195mm in length, 820mm in width, 1,280mm in height and has a ground clearance of 335mm. It comes equipped with a 270mm disc at front and 240mm disc at the rear. It has a perimeter frame with 49mm inverted separate function at the front and a Uni-trak compression damping at the rear. The motorcycle also gets modern electronics in the form of launch control. On the other hand, KLX450R is powered by a 449cc engine, liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine that is mated to a 5-speed transmission. It has a wheelbase of 1,480mm and has a ground clearance of 315mm. The kerb weight of motorcycle is 126kg and fuel tank capacity is rated at 8 litres. The KX450F and KLX 450R are not road legal and can be imported into India via CBU route.
After its split from Bajaj Auto in March 2017, Kawasaki will be participating in the 2018 Auto Expo. The company will showcase its entire range like Ninja ZX10RR, Z900, Ninja 1000 and Ninja ZX-14R at the show. Also, Kawasaki will reveal its retro style motorcycle Z900RS at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. It is expected that company might showcase the Z900RS in India at 2018 Auto Expo. In addition, Kawasaki plans to introduce 11 new models in two years.
