Indian Motorcycle has launched the Scout Bobber in India with prices starting at Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Indian Scout Bobber made its global debut in July this year and it takes its design inspiration from its elder Scout siblings. The bookings for this cruiser had already started at the brand's outlets countrywide at a token amount of Rs 50,000. As the name suggests, the Indian Scout Bobber comes with minimalistic body work that lend it a rugged kind of a look. The bike receives knobby tyres along with chopped off fenders that indeed give it some muscles. The Indian Scout Bobber is now available for sale in the country in a total of five colour options that go by the name thunder black, thunder black smoke, bronze smoke, star silver smoke and Indian Motorcycle red. The Indian Scout Bobber gets its power from a 1131cc, twin cylinder engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. The motor is good for churning out respective power and torque outputs of 99 hp and 97.7 Nm.
The braking to the motorcycle is done with the help of a 298mm disc brake that has been integrated at both ends. These further come linked to a standard Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) for added safety. The suspension set up of the Indian Scout Bobber gets new forks at the front while the rear set up is now lowered by 25mm.
The riding position of the motorcycle is different in comparison to the Scout, thanks to the tracker style handlebar along with the new position of footpegs. Another interesting highlight of the bike that justifies its 'Bobber' nomenclature are the bar end mirrors that look elegant. The Indian Scout Bobber will take on the likes of Triumph Bonneville Bobber, Harley-Davidson Forty Eight and Moto Guzri V9 Bobber in the Indian premium bike market.
