The upcoming Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 motorcycles have been spotted testing recently somewhere in Pune. The two motorcycles are seen in a production ready state and hence, it would be safe to say that the launch is a few months away. The two bikes have been snapped by folks at Zigwheels and the units have been spotted completely undisguised. Digging into further details of the two motorcycles, the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 is the downsized version of the Vitpilen 701. The motorcycle comes with minimalistic body work and cafe racer styled handlebar that shouts out the appeal of cafe racer motorcycles. The upcoming Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is based on a scrambler philosophy. This is evident by the fact that the said model gets an upright riding position and raised up handlebar. Also, the bike has been equipped with knobby tyres that give an off-road appeal. The India spec Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 will most likely come with full LED headlamp and tail lamp. The two motorcycles will also come with a fully digital instrument cluster that supports smartphone connectivity as well. The unit is the same that you must have seen on the new 2017 KTM 390 Duke.
Powering the upcoming Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 is the same 373cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that runs the 390 Duke. The fuel injected mill develops a maximum power output of 43 hp along with a peak torque of 37 Nm. Gearbox is a six-speed unit that also gets a slipper clutch to minimise the effects of engine braking during times of aggressive downshifts. The two bikes will come with a 320mm disc brake up front along with a 230mm disc brake at the rear. An ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) will also be on offer to provide added safety and convenience.
The new Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 are expected to come with a competitive price tag, as these will be produced at Bajaj's production facility in Chakan, Pune. More details to be revealed in the coming days!
