Hero MotoCorp has started sending out invites for an event that is scheduled for 30th January. The company will unveil the all-new Xtreme 200 NXT on the said date at an event in New Delhi. The Hero Xtreme 200 NXT is essentially the Xtreme 200 that was showcased for the first time at 2016 edition of Auto Expo. The final production model is expected to come with slight changes when compared to the concept. The new Hero Xtreme 200 NXT will get its power from a 200cc, air-cooled engine mated to a five-speed transmission system. The motor is good for churning out a maximum power output of close to 18 hp along with an expected peak torque of 17 Nm. The motorcycle will come with conventional telescopic forks at the front along with a monoshock at the rear. The braking to the Hero Xtreme 200 NXT is taken care of with the help of disc brakes at both ends. It will be interesting to see if the manufacturer offers an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with the motorcycle, at least as an option. The said safety equipment is getting mandatory for two-wheelers in India starting April 2018 having an engine displacement of 125cc and above. For this reason, we can expect an ABS with the Xtreme 200 NXT.
The new Hero Xtreme 200 NXT will take its design cues with the existing Xtreme only. The front section of the motorcycle will most likely come with twin positioning lamps that are a signature highlights of such motorcycles nowadays. A digital-analog instrument cluster is also expected to come with the new Xtreme 200 NXT.
The upcoming Hero Xtreme 200 NXT will challenge the likes of TVS Apache RTR 200 and Bajaj Pulsar NS 200. The motorcycle is expected to be launched in the Indian two-wheeler market at a price of close to Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom). More details to be revealed on 30th January. Since this will be an unveil, the price announcement is expected to take place at Auto Expo 2018.
