Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited (GEMPL), the e-mobility business of Greaves Cotton Limited, has announced a significant price revision on its highest-selling models of Ampere electric scooters, aligning with its mission to make “Har Gully Electric.”

This move aims to make electric scooters more affordable and accessible to a wider audience, contributing to the growth of the electric vehicle market in India. The company’s highest-selling scooter, the Magnus EX, which offers a certified range of over 100 kilometers, is now available at Rs. 94,900 (ex-showroom), down from its previous price.
Another variant, the Magnus LT, which delivers a single-charge certified range of approximately 80 kilometers, is now priced at Rs. 84,900 (ex-showroom). The Magnus series is known for its removable battery pack, multiple modes, large seat, and premium metallic colours, making it a pioneering electric scooter at an affordable price.
Ampere’s entry-level electric scooter, the Reo Li Plus, has been conceptualized to democratize e-mobility in India by delivering maximum convenience of usage. It is now available at an astonishing ex-showroom price of Rs. 59,900 only. The Reo Li Plus comes with a removable Lithium-Ion battery pack, offering a certified range of approximately 70 kilometers on a single charge, making it ideal for meeting Indians’ daily mobility needs.

Notably, the Reo Li Plus does not require a license or registration, making it an easy-to-use yet sturdy electric scooter. The company recently introduced its first high-performance family electric scooter, Ampere Nexus, which has been garnering excellent response pan-India.
It comes in two variants, EX and ST, and boasts class-leading features like a 3kWh LFP battery with 30% extra battery life and a rapid charging time of 3 hours 22 minutes. The Ampere Nexus has a top speed of 93 kmph and a certified range of 136 km. The introductory prices for the Nexus EX and ST models are Rs. 1,09,900 and Rs. 1,19,000, respectively, with bookings open at Rs 9,999 on the Ampere website.
This price revision is expected to increase the adoption of electric scooters in India, aligning with the country’s ambition to achieve an 80% sales penetration for electric two-wheelers. The move is also in line with the growing demand for eco-friendly transportation, which saw a 36% surge in sales in 2023.
