DSK Benelli will strengthen its sub-500cc motorcycle range in India by launching the new Benelli 302R. The DSK Benelli will launch the anticipated 302R motorcycle in the country on 25th July. Customers can also book the new Benelli 302R at any DSK Benelli dealership at a minimum amount of Rs 25,000. The Benelli 302R is a fully-faired sports motorcycle and will be an entry-level model in the company's portfolio. It will be powered by a 300cc two-cylinder, water-cooled, four-stroke engine. This unit develops around 37 hp of maximum power and 27 Nm of peak torque and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The company will offer the Benelli 302R with upside down front forks and an adjustable monoshock suspension at the rear.
The Benelli 302R will share its styling with the TNT 300, especially at the rear section. The upcoming 302R will be based on a trestle frame that will improve the handling, performance and manoeuvrability on all road conditions as it is made of light weight material. It is expected that the motorcycle will have a kerb weight of about 196 kg. DSK Benelli will offer the 302R with front and rear disc brakes as well as ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) as standard. It will also receive features like split headlamp cluster and a new front design.
The company is likely to offer the DSK Benelli 302R with four body colours, namely; Red with White, Red with Black, Green and Silver. The motorcycle is expected to be priced around Rs 3.5 lakh, ex-showroom and will be locally assembled in India. It will compete with the likes of the Yamaha YZF-R3, KTM RC390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300 in the sub-500cc segment.
