BMW Motorrad has launched two motorcycles that go by the name K 1600 B and R nineT racer in India at the ongoing India Bike Week (IBW) 2017. While the BMW K 1600 B is a fully faired bagger motorcycle, the R nineT racer is the stripped down version of R nineT street bike. The former has been launched at a price of Rs 29 lakh while the latter will set you back by Rs 17.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Before the launch of these two motorcycles, BMW Motorrad already had 11 bikes at its disposal in its product portfolio for India. Talking of the company's most awaited motorcycle, the launch of the G310R has been getting delayed as BMW Motorrad is currently setting up dealership network. Now, the launch of the 313cc roadster will take place sometime during next year only. BMW Motorrad has recently opened its dealerships in Kochi and Chennai and is planning to come up with more outlets in different Indian cities. Now, only time will tell at what time does the company launches the new G310R in India and even interesting will be its pricing.
Now, coming back to the two recently launched motorcycles, the BMW K 1600 B gets its power from a 1649cc, inline six cylinder engine that has been linked to a six-speed gearbox. The engine is good for developing respective power and torque figures of 160 hp and 175 Nm. The transmission of this motorcycle gets a quickshifter along with a reverse gear.
Talking of the other motorcycle, the BMW R nineT racer gets its power from a 1170cc, air-cooled, twin cylinder engine mated to a six-speed transmission system. The engine cranks out a maximum power output of 110 hp while the peak torque figure stands at 116 Nm. The motorcycle has been assisted with a retro cowl and gets conventional telescopic forks upfront. The new BMW R nineT racer will challenge the likes of Triumph Thruxton R in the Indian premium bike market.
