Bajaj Auto is racing to refresh its motorcycle portfolio with 10 new or updated models before the festive season. The company on Monday launched the new Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 in Pune at ₹92,990 and ₹1,15,233, ex-showroom, respectively.
The two motorcycles are the second set of launches in Bajaj’s six-week product rollout announced during its Q1 FY27 analyst call, following the introduction of the Pulsar N160 S and N160 SS on August 7.
Rakesh Sharma, executive director, Bajaj Auto, said the company had seen some “fatigue” in the segment as some of the Pulsar models like the 125 and 150 had not received major updates for several years. The updated models are aimed at attracting both new customers and existing Pulsar owners, he said.
“There was a bit of a fatigue for us in this segment as there were not any major updates to these models since some years. Now we have a similar looking model with a long list of updates to cater to new as well as repeat buyers,” Sharma said on the sidelines of the launch.
The company had earlier said two of the 10 products in its planned rollout would be all-new Pulsars, while the remaining launches would comprise new variants and product upgrades. Bajaj has three product launches lined up in the upcoming weeks, along with new brand introductions planned in the coming months, FE can confirm.
Sumeet Narang, president, marketing, Bajaj Auto, said the latest Pulsar 125 and 150 launches were the “second launch in this journey”, signalling that the company’s product offensive is far from over. “We will meet you soon again. There’s a lot of stuff that we will still be coming up with in the coming days,” Narang said.
With these updates, Bajaj is also restructuring the Pulsar portfolio around three distinct platforms starting with the Original, N and NS with each positioned for different customer needs.
The aggressive product push comes as Bajaj’s sports motorcycle segment posted about 50% year-on-year growth in the April-June quarter, with Pulsar, Avenger and Dominar recording double-digit growth.
