Bajaj Auto is set to launch the new Avenger 180 Street in India in the coming days. The images of the motorcycle have been revealed by folks at Autocar India. The price of the new Bajaj Avenger 180 Street is also out and the motorcycle will come with a tag of Rs 83,400 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). At this price point, the bike undercuts the Suzuki Intruder 150 by over Rs 10,000 despite having a bigger displacement engine. Selected dealerships across India have started accepting bookings for the new Bajaj Avenger 180 Street. As per the report, the motorcycle will be delivered to the customers after 8 to 10 days of making the payment. The new Bajaj Avenger 180 Street misses out on a fully digital instrument cluster that comes on the recently launched updated Avenger 220s. Apart from that, the motorcycle looks almost identical to its elder sibling, Avenger 220 Street. The engine on the new Bajaj Avenger 180 Street will most likely be the same 178.6cc, single cylinder unit that runs the Pulsar 180. The motor is good for developing maximum power and torque outputs of 17 hp and 14.2 Nm respectively. Transmission will be a five-speed unit.
The motorcycle will come with a front disc brake but will miss an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and that is where the Suzuki Intruder 150 has an advantage. The new Bajaj Avenger 180 Street will be available for sale in two colours of Red and Black. The new Bajaj Avenger 180 Street will have the same blacked out theme as its Street siblings. The bike gets a similar rounded headlamp with Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) that come in the new Avenger 220 Street.
Suzuki has recently unveiled the new Intruder 150 Fi at Auto Expo 2018 to make it stand more confidently in front of Bajaj Avenger. Now, the counterpunch from Bajaj indeed looks promising and only time will tell if the decision to bring in the Avenger 180 proved worthy for the company or not. More details on the new Bajaj Avenger 180 Street to be revealed in the coming days!
