Auto Expo 2018 witnesses BMW Motorrad launching its two adventure bikes in India that go by the names BMW F 750 GS and BMW F 850 GS. The two motorcycles have been launched in the country at respective prices of Rs 12.20 lakh and Rs 13.70 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). The new BMW F 750 GS and BMW F 850 GS come fitted with the same 853cc, inline two-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed transmission system. While the BMW F 750 GS produces a power output of 77 hp, at 7500 rpm, the engine on the BMW F 850 GS is good for 95 hp. at 8250 rpm. The new BMW F 750 GS and BMW F 850 GS are offered with two riding modes that go by the name ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’, to adapt to changing road conditions. Also, the rider can choose from three optional riding modes viz 'Dynamic’, ‘Enduro’ and ‘Enduro Pro’. The company also said at Auto Expo 2018 that the two bikes offer DTC dynamic traction control and its advanced ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) Pro to offer added safety.
The new BMW F 750 GS and BMW F 850 GS displayed at Auto Expo 2018 feature a new instrument cluster design that consists of an analogue speedometer and a multifunctional display. The unit is also available with an optional equipment known as Connectivity along with with a 6.5 inch full-colour TFT display. Integrating operation via the BMW Motorrad multi-controller, it gives the rider quick access to vehicle and connectivity functions. Phone and media functions can be used without having to install an app. The rider can easily make telephone calls and enjoy listening to music with Bluetooth connection. In addition, the BMW Motorrad Connected app offers everyday-suitable and practice-oriented arrow navigation directly via the TFT display.
