Announcing its portfolio for the 2018 Auto Expo, Mercedes-Benz who has spent 2017 establishing its dominance in the subcontinent selling almost 6000 units more than any other luxury car maker in the country. Naturally, this show of strength and the aggressive portfolio expansion that they showed last year, will continue into the Auto expo where they have announced three new products that will be on display from their global portfolio including India’s first look at a pivotal future prototype.
Mercedes-Benz S650 Maybach -Auto Expo 2018
The Mercedes-Benz Pavilion in Hall 15 of the Auto Expo 2018, will have the 2018 Mercedes-Maybach S650 sedan. Their flagship on all counts, the S650 Maybach sits on a long-wheelbase S-Class chassis, and gets a Maybach signature handcrafted cabin, along with an additional list of exclusive features that are becoming of a car with the M badging. Powering this lounge on wheels, the S650 will be a handbuilt V12 twin-turbo motor, which makes 625 hp and 1000 Nm of torque. This will be one of the cars that Mercedes will launch at the Auto Expo
E-Class All Terrain – Auto Expo 2018
Second on the 2018 Auto Expo list for Mercedes-Benz India, will be the interesting new E-Class All terrain crossover wagon which will get Mercedes-Benz’s 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system as standard. In terms of design, it is a bit odd, but Mercedes might be planning to build upon the portfolio from the super successful GLA. Interestingly the E-Class All-Terrain will also get air-suspension which can alter the cars ground clearance on the run. However, this will continue as a showcase, with Mercedes-Benz bringing the off-road ready wagon in the latter half of 2018!
Mercedes-Benz EQ Concept
The Mercedes-Benz EQ electric SUV concept will also be on display at the 2018 Auto Expo, which will be the first electric vehicle to get the three-pointed star. The EQ will be powered by two electric motors, although that is all that is known about the Mercedes EV. Aside from these essential vehicles, the Mercedes stall will also be displaying the Mercedes-AMG Formula One car as well as the AMG GT-R and the AMG GLC 43 Coupe.
