Auto Expo 2018 Uniti cars in association with Bird Mobility has unveiled its electric car concept at the biennial event. The car is the question here is named as Uniti One and it has already made its global debut in Europe. The company says that the car has received an overwhelming response in Europe. The car will be launched in India with a five-seater layout sometime in the year 2020. The company says that certain parts of the Uniti one electric car will be produced locally while the prime components like powertrain will be imported from Sweden. Uniti cars believe that this is the right time to bring the brand to India. The manufacturer will offer a wireless charging facility to the customers that can be easily set up in their homes. The company says at Auto Expo 2018 that the charging process will be as easy as people charge their phones. The motive of this saying was that there is no rocket science involved in charging the EV at your place and soon, it will become a part of people's lives.
The new Uniti One showcased at Auto Expo 2018 will be offered with a 24kWh battery pack. The battery pack has been installed and is spread across the floor of the car in order to maintain that low centre of gravity. The brand employs the Siemens sourced Gallio motor that is mounted on the rear axle that is also present on the Volvo XC90 plug in. One of the most interesting highlights of the new Uniti One electric car is the full HD display that enlightens the windscreen at the front. However, the India spec model, the prototype of which is displayed at Auto Expo 2018 will receive the feature as an option that is expected to cost an additional Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000.
The Uniti One electric car has been integrated with a Level 5 autonomous capabilities and keeping in mind price sensitiveness of our market, the said feature is quite unlikely to come here with this car.
