Auto Expo 2018 is seeing multiple product launches even on Day 3 and Yamaha has just launched the new 2018 edition of YZF-R3 in India. The price of the motorcycle has been kept at Rs 3.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The most prominent change on the new R3 is the integration of a dual channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) for improved braking. Another change in the new Yamaha YZF-R3 ABS is the Metzeler tyres as against MRF rubber that used to come on the previous model. For those not in the know, the Yamaha YZF-R3 was retired with the onset of BS-IV emission norms. There had been rumours since long that Yamaha will launch the new R3 soon but the manufacturer chose the opportunity to launch the new Yamaha R3 ABS at Auto Expo 2018. The new Yamaha YZF-R3 ABS has been launched in the country in two new colours that go by the name Racing Blue and Magma Black.
Powering the new 2018 Yamaha YZF-R3 ABS is the same 321cc, parallel twin engine mated to a six-speed transmission system. The engine is good for churning out respective power and torque outputs of 42 PS and 29.6 Nm. The suspension system of the motorcycle comprises of conventional telescopic forks at the front along with a monoshock at the rear. The Yamaha YZF-R3 ABS showcased at Auto Expo 2018 has been equipped with the same digital-analog instrument cluster that gives an access to all the useful information to the rider.
