Auto Expo 2018: Hyundai Kona Iron Man edition spotted ahead of India debut

Auto Expo 2018: We have known for a while that the 2018, Hyundai Kona will break cover at the Auto Expo. What we may not have expected if for Hyundai to ditch plans of bringing the standard Kona, but have instead gone for shock and awe with the distinctively styled Hyundai Kona IronMan edition. It takes inspiration from Marvel’s Iron Man, and this is no graphics slap-on job either, it’s been reworked so much that it has started to look more like a concept than anything from a production line.

Key details like the Velar retractable door handles, the slimmer side mirror covers, but what I think is the most eye catching feature on the Kona is the wo-tone body finish with a matte grey look and glossy red accents derived from Stark Industries’ armored suit. The Kona Iron Man Edition is 40 mm wider than the regular Kona and sits on 19-inch Iron Man themed alloys wrapped in chunky-futuristic looking off-road tyres. The headlights have a modified LED configuration and the hood has gained some gold accents to further mimic the body of the comic hero.

The Hyundai Kona Iron Man edition will be on display at the Auto Expo 2018 at Greater Noida in the outskirts of Delhi. However, we are not sure as to whether Hyundai will ever bring the Iron Man edition to showrooms, or just intend to use it as a show pony. As for the standard Kona which is set to go on sale this year in international markets, might make it India later this year. Expect Hyundai to show all at this years Auto Expo 2018.
