Auto Expo 2018 countdown has finally begun and the 14th edition of Asia’s largest motor show will have multiple interesting vehicles for the auto enthusiasts. The two-wheeler territory will be no different and the upcoming edition of the motoring exhibition will bring with it some of the most anticipated motorcycles. Auto Expo 2018 will open its gates to the public on 9th February and it will conclude on 14th February. The event will take place at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The tickets for the Auto Expo 2018 are on sale at selected Metro stations and the box office counter at India Expo Mart. The highly awaited Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 will be launched in India at Auto Expo 2018. The motorcycle has been spotted multiple times in India but has not made it to the market yet. Now with the motor show just a couple of days away, Yamaha intends to launch the YZF-R15 V3.0. The motorcycle will come powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled engine mated to a six-speed transmission system. The engine gets a slipper clutch as well to minimise the effects of engine braking in case of aggressive downshifts. The new Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 is expected to be launched at a price of Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hero MotoCorp first showcased the XPulse adventure bike at the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy last year. The motorcycle will get the same engine that runs the recently unveiled Hero Xtreme 200R. The motorcycle will be a more powerful replacement for the Hero Impulse that was retired a few months back. The motorcycle will come with adventure friendly buts such as windscreen, wired wheels, luggage panniers and a lot more. The Hero XPulse will be launched in India at an expected price of a little over Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom).
The new Kawasaki Ninja 400 will be undoubtedly one of the most interesting motorcycles to look forward for the petrolheads. As the ageing Kawasaki Ninja 300 has not received a major update since a long time, the company might launch the Ninja 400 in India, keeping in mind the fierce competition it has to face in the full faired 300cc + segment. Once launched, the new Kawasaki Ninja 400 will take on the likes of KTM RC 390, Benelli 302R and TVS Apache RR310 in the full faired sportsbike territory.
Kawasaki will be showcasing its supercharged sports tourer that goes by the name Ninja H2 SX. The motorcycle will get its power from a 998cc, inline four engine churning out a little less than 200 horses along with a peak torque of 137 Nm. The gearbox will be a six-speed unit. Currently, there is no clarity on whether Kawasaki will launch the Ninja H2 SX in India during Auto Expo 2018 but most likely, the motorcycle will be present at the company’s booth.
Honda has announced that it will launch a brand new motorcycle at Auto Expo 2018. However, it is not clear at the moment whether the motorcycle fit into the mass market segment or the premium one. We believe that Honda will bring the CBR150R to our shores at the biennial event. The Honda CBR250R and CBR150R have been retired long back with the onset of BS-IV emission norms.
Cleveland Cyclewerks will make its entry to the Indian two-wheeler market at the Auto Expo 2018. The company will launch two motorcycles at the biennial event that go by the name Misfit. The motorcycle will get its power from a 250cc engine. The Cleveland Cyclewerks Misfit rides on 18-inch front and 16-inch rear wheels. The motorcycle will e launched at an expected price of close to Rs 2 lakh.
Emflux is going to launch India’s first indigenously developed electric superbike at Auto Expo 2018. The eco-friendly bike has been named as Emflux One and it is capable of touching 100 kmph from a standstill in just 3 seconds. The Emflux One can achieve a top speed of 200 kmph that will make it the fastest electric bike India has ever got. The electric motor in the Emflux One develops a maximum power output of 80 hp along with a peak torque of 84 Nm.
BMW Motorrad will showcase the G310R at Auto Expo 2018. However, the sad part is that the motorcycle will just be for the showcase and it will be launched in India at a later stage. The BMW G310R is powered by a 313cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine mated to a six-speed transmission system. The BMW G310R gets inverted forks at the front along with a monoshock at the rear. The braking system of the BMW roadster gets disc brakes at both ends and an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) comes as standard.
One of the exciting big bikes at Auto Expo 2018 will be the next generation Goldwing that has been launched in India just a few weeks back. Known as one of the best tourer motorcycles one can buy on planet earth, the new Honda Goldwing sees significant weight reduction than the previous model and is also almost Rs 2 lakh cheaper. Powering the new Honda Goldwing is a straight six-cylinder engine that has been assisted with a seven-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The engine is good for shedding out 125 hp of power and 170 Nm of torque. The motorcycle is currently on sale in India at a price of Rs 26.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
UM Motorcycles is going to unveil India’s first ever electric cruiser bike at Auto Expo 2018. The motorcycle has already been teased by the company through its social media channels and is one of the highly awaited bikes for the biennial event. The power and torque figures of the new UM Renegade Thor are a mystery at the moment. The new Renegade Thor will come on the similar styling as the Renegade models and the silhouette of the bike shows that it will come with a laid-back styling, courtesy flat handlebar and low seating position. More details to be revealed at Auto Expo 2018.
