Xerox Modicorp Reworks Strategy

Xerox Modicorp Ltd intends to take on Hewlett-Packard in the printing segment with its reworked marketing strategy, enhanced line of offerings and aggressive value pricing.

Company officials said that Xerox has repositioned its multifunctional office copiers as an upgradable modular system, the base will be offered which can be upgraded later as per customer requirements.

Xerox Modicorps senior marketing manager (OSG/XES/CGS) Clifford Dweltz divulged that under the new Office Product line-up, all digital copiers and office multifunctional systems will belong to one of the three families CopyCenter, WorkCenter or WorkCenter Pro. These families feature both new products and older ones that have been redesigned, re-priced and renamed. He said that the price of the multifunctional products initially used to start from Rs 4 lakh. The products are now priced from Rs 2 lakh upwards. These products are available both in monochrome and colour segment.

CopyCenter products are digital copiers, WorkCenter products are basic multifunctional devices providing copying and network printing with options for scanning, faxing and e-mail. WorkCenter Pro MFPs copy and print at speeds from 16ppm (pages per minute) to 90 ppm in colour and monochrome. They offer open architecture, advanced networking and easy integration with solutions from third party providers.

The company is expanding its range of office services, including office document assessments, which can result in savings of upto 40 per cent by streamlining document work processes.
