Work gathers pace at Rajiv Gandhi power plant

The Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL) is relentlessly pursuing its target of achieving full load generation from the prestigious 1,200-mw Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Project, Khedar in Hisar.

Sanjeev Kaushal, managing director of HPGCL, after reviewing the progress of the project, at Khedar in Hisar, said that after successful synchronisation of unit-1 of 600 mw in December, engineers of HPGCL and RInfra are working round the clock to commence the commercial operation of the first unit of this large size in India.

The work of Railway siding of the project is complete and the coal mills of Unit-1 are being prepared to ensure its synchronisation on coal by 31 January 2010.
