Witness Sets Up Shop In India

Attracted to the burgeoning call centre industry in India, US-based quality and performance management software company, Witness Systems is setting up its offices in India and forging alliances with the local companies for sales, service and support of its software solutions.

The company, in a media conference held in New Delhi on Thursday, has announced the partnership with a Delhi based software services company, FutureSoft India, for services and support of its products in the Indian market. Although the company has been implementing its software solution in India as part of its international operations, it had no direct presence in the local market so far.

Witness Systems regional director for India Robert Horwood said, India is already the largest market for Witness in Asia and there is a huge growth potential as more and more back office business is expected in India in next few years.

He said that the company is already in the process of building its own team in India and has started recruiting people for providing pre-sales and business development support to its partners. The company will primarily operate in large cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, he added.

Mr Horwood added that apart from Futuresoft, the company would also rope in other local partners to develop the Indian market.

Witness Systems claimed to enjoy around 35 per cent market share of quality and performance optimising systems market in the US. Witness eQuality software suite, which comprises of integrated, multimedia customers interaction recording among others is used by companies for their customer relation operations.
