VisualSoft Technologies will soon offer business process outsourcing (BPO) services. The company has decided to set up a 500-seat BPO centre in Hyderabad within the next two quarters with an overall estimated investment of Rs 40 crore.

VisualSoft chairman and managing director DVS Raju said: The proposed BPO operations would commence before the end of this financial year (March 2004).

VisualSoft is holding talks with a few prospective companies in the US and hopes to clinch at least three deals to start with in the next few months, Mr Raju said.

The company is scouting for office space in and around Hyderabad. Of the proposed investment of Rs 40 crore, a major chunk will go into the Hyderabad centre, while the rest would be for the proposed Visakhapatnam BPO operations. We propose to start BPO operations in Hyderabad first and then go to Vizag later, he said. Originally, VisualSoft proposed to start its BPO operations in Visakhapatnam.

The company would take up activities in help desk, tech support services, in-bound voice/non-voice and multi-media services. We will consider acquisitions if we get a good offer with a good customer base and a professionally managed company in the domestic market, he added.
