Delhi-based Vishal Retail on Monday opened an outlet at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, its 100th store in the country.
The company has retail stores in 69 cities across India spread over 21.5 lakh square feet. The retail chain, which is actively scouting for spaces, plans to cover retail area of 25 lakh square feet by this year-end.
“There has been a significant rise in footfalls and profitability across the Vishal Retail stores in the last few years. We are looking to cross total retail area of 25 lakh sq ft in tier II and tier III cities by the end of 2008 and will continue to actively look out for retail space across the country, especially in the smaller towns,” Vishal Retail CMD Ram Chandra Agarwal said in a statement.
He said the company is targeting middle class segment which has got purchasing power and also expects the maximum value-for-money without compromising on quality.
