USINPAC framework to boost India-US ties

The US India Political Action Committee (USINPAC), a Washington-based political organisation of the Indian American community, on Wednesday announced its framework to strengthen India-US economic and political relation.

Members of USINPAC are currently touring India and holding meetings with the government and corporate leaders, including defence minister Pranab Mukherjee and commerce and industry minister Kamal Nath.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Sanjay Puri, chairman of USINPAC said, The commerce minister has promised to set up a coordinating mechanism in the ministry to create synergies between the efforts of various industry and bilateral trade forums so as to accelerate the pace of small business development between the two countries.

He said that USINPAC has also expressed concerns on the growing menace of terror outfits based in Bangladesh, and called upon the US government to examine and help curb this new epicenter of terrorism.

The US India Business Alliance, a business forum promoted by USINPAC, signed a MoU with Nasscom which calls for broad ranging collaboration between Nasscom and USIBA to create win-win solutions for the IT and software industries of the US and India.
