It now now appears that BJP general secretary Arun Jaitley and former health minister CP Thakur are also most likely to be reinducted into the Cabinet, party sources said, adding Ms Bharati is already understood to have sent in her papers to the Prime Minister. Mr Jaitley is most likely to get back the law portfolio, which he gave up in the last reshuffle in July when he was drafted for party work.
Mr Thakur was dropped in the last reshuffle and his place was taken by Shatrughan Sinha, about whom there is speculation now whether he would retain the health ministry.
Mr Krishnamurthy, who was made law minister after being asked to step down as BJP president mid-way through his tenure in the face of electoral debacle in some states, was asked to put in his papers following reports that he was not keeping good health.
Ms Bharatis resignation has apparently been taken to make her president of the Madhya Pradesh BJP unit ahead of the Assembly polls in the state later this year. The high profile communication and parliamentary affairs minister Pramod Mahajan may lose information technology from his hand.
