Trade with US to cross $120 bn

Industry body Assocham has prepared a road-map to accelerate two-way trade between India and US. As per projections, trade between the countries is likely to go up to over $120 billion by 2010 from the current level of $40 billion.

According to a paper brought out by Assocham on Indo-US Business Opportunities, the areas identified for mutual economic gains include pharmaceutical and healthcare, biotechnology, telecom, information & knowledge based industries, retailing sector, real estate, automotive industry, media & entertainment, infrastructure development, technology exchange, agriculture and nanotechnology.

US has contributed to India its foreign direct investments to the tune of $ 4 billion.
