Tata Indicom Offers Wi-fi Services At Barista Outlets

In a strategic move, Barista Coffee Company Ltd and Tata Teleservices Maharashtra Ltd have entered into a tie-up to jointly offer Tata Indicom Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) Services at Barista outlets in Mumbai, to be implemented in two phases. Phase I will see the service being offered in 10 outlets. In Phase II, the service

will be extended to select Barista Espresso Bars across the city.

With the move, Barista Espresso Bars will become Wi-Fi Hot Spots where customers can connect to the Internet and enjoy high-speed downloads in the Barista ambience.

Announcing the new tie-up, Barista Coffee Company Ltd chief operating officer Yogesh Samat said: This is in line with our endeavour to provide our patrons with the best facilities alongwith the best of coffees. Barista Espresso Bars are the place where the world meets and initiatives like this add to the appeal of Barista as a place where one can work as well as have fun. This would also make Barista Espresso Bars a preferred place for meetings and attract a wider spectrum of consumers.

Speaking at the occassion, Tata Teleservices Mahara-shtra Ltd chief operation officer YVL Pandit added that now corporate customers too can seamlssly access their respective company network, including company e-mail and calender, from out of office.

For this, individual PC settings simply have to be configured with the companys virtual private network (VPN), and the necessary security measures.

According to Mr Pandit, Tata Teleservices Maharashtra Ltd will provide and manage the Wi-Fi infrastructure.
