Tata Capital has raised $200 million more to reach a $1-billion fund over the past few months. The firm had targeted to achieve the billion-dollar fund closure by December, 2011. We have already invested $175 million across 4-5 investments from the fund, said Praveen P Kadle, Tata Capital MD and CEO. We may cross the $1 billion mark, he added. The company is looking at a closure in the next 2-3 months.

The company has received a large portion of foreign investment in the fund from Japanese institutional players like Japan Bank for International Cooperation and six-seven other banks and financial institutions.
