Tata-AIG General Insurance has launched Student Guard, a specially designed travel insurance plan for Indian students going overseas for higher studies.

Student Guard comes with a basic non-medical sickness plan with an option of adding an upgraded sickness medical cover. Many foreign universities make it mandatory for students to take the sickness medical cover from them.

Hence, this policy gives flexibility to students to take the basic policy from Tata AIG and buy the additional medical cover from the respective university. This policy offers several unique features like study interruption cover, sponsor protection cover and compassionate visit (2-way) cover.

Additionally, it has benefits like cover for bail bond, felonious assault and loss of checked-in baggage. Besides, the policy offers 24-hour worldwide emergency medical assistance service, emergency medical evacuation, and repatriation of the remains in the event of death.

This policy can be availed of by any individual between the age 16 and 35 years who is enrolled and attending a full-time registered education institution of higher learning outside India.
