Sutherland India senior vice president and country manager Bharat Chadda, said that since establishing operations in India, Sutherland has been successful in transiting over one-fourth of its global clients to India. The company is witnessing a surge for offshore services and the current expansion in Chennai is a direct result of both new client wins and existing offshore clients growing their relationship with the company, he said. Over the next six months, the company expects at least one-third of its global clients to move work to India.
The 1,00,000 square foot facility can accommodate up to 1,500 people. The facility, which is expected to become operational in December this year, will support the needs of existing US-based clients who require offshore support along with new clients recently acquired by the company.
Currently, the company manages two existing offshore delivery centres in Chennai. It has a strong offshore base of eight marquee clients, including telecommunications and software products players.
