Stamp on PHD chamber released

The government on Wednesday released a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industrys (PHDCCIs) centenary year. The stamp was released by minister of state for information and technology and communication Dr Shakeel Ahmed.

Dr Ahmed said the stamp symbolises the multifaceted activities of the chamber and applauded the chambers pro-active role in bridging the gap between the government and industry and also its work for the welfare of the society by organizing various family planning and self-employment programmes.

KN Memani, president, PHDCCI said that the issuance of a commemorative postage stamp was a tribute and recognition of the chambers contribution to the countrys economic development.

Mr Raghupati Singhania, past president and chairman, centenary celebrations committee, PHDCCI in his remarks said that as the post office wields great importance in rural and urban communities, it can be used for purposes other than vending of stamps and postal services.
