Sogani quits as WNS CFO, Puria takes over

NYSE-listed outsourcing firm WNS on Wednesday said its chief financial officer Deepak Sogani had stepped down citing personal reasons, reports fe Bureau in Mumbai. Sanjay Puria, WNS corporate senior vice-president (finance), will be the CFO on a permanent basis with immediate effect. Puria is a chartered accountant with over 15 years of experience, including in the offshore services industry. During his three years at WNS, Puria has managed several key finance functions, including corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, financial planning and analysis, and strategic business development.

The company is pleased to have an excellent internal replacement and proven performer for this strategic role, and believe Sanjay is the right choice to lead the finance function and help continue to move WNS forward. This is the third WNS CFO who has quit in almost a year's time. Former CFO Alok Misra quit the company in July last year after assuming the position in February 2008. Sogani was appointed the CFO in December 2012 after quitting Times Internet in the same position. He was also the CFO of iGATE Computer Systems till 2006. Sogani has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from IIT, Delhi and a post graduate diploma in management from IIM-Ahmedabad.
