SICA Ministers Coming In Feb

A group of five ministers from Panama, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Guatemala is coming on a five day visit to India with the view to enhance bilateral ties from February. According to the external affairs ministry spokesman, the ministers, belonging to the largest economic grouping in Central American Region System of Central American Integration (SICA) are likely to sign an agreement with the government. The two will establish a mechanism for political consultations and cooperation through the accord, the spokesman said.

The visit assumes significance in the wake of India signing a preferential trade agreement with Latin American trading block MERCOSUR.
