Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Haider’ box office collections cross Rs 7 crore

‘Haider’ box office collections have bagged Rs 26.78 cr over weekend.

Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Haider’ box office collections finally broke the Rs 7-crore barrier, with a business of Rs 7.33 crore on Sunday – its highest take so far in a single day.

‘Haider’ collections have been average at best, though they improved from the opening day business of Rs 6.14 crore, but barely – whether it is in India, or abroad.

While Day 1 saw ‘Haider’ box office collections at Rs 6.14 crore, on Day 2 these climbed up to Rs 6.93 crore, followed by Rs 6.38 crore on Day 3 and a better show of Rs 7.33 crore on Day 4 as mentioned above.

To elaborate, ‘Haider’ box office collections have been pegged in the Rs 26.78 crore on the opening weekend, making it No 13 among the 2014 releases, right below Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Mary Kom’, which collected Rs 30.60 crore.

‘Bang Bang’, which released with ‘Haider’, has become the highest opening weekend grosser of 2014 by collecting Rs 94.13 (4 days), beating Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’ that collected Rs 83.83 crore (3 days) and Ajay Devgn’s Singham Returns’ Rs 77.69 crore (3 days) – it should be noted that the weekend for ‘Haider’ and ‘Bang Bang’ started on Thursday and not Friday as is usual.

While everyone expected ‘Haider’ to play second-fiddle to ‘Bang Bang’, but a long-long weekend had promised a much better show as Shahid Kapoor’s film mostly got better ratings than Hrithik Roshan’s. However, that never happened and the Rs 100 crore seems like mission impossible for Kapoor!

‘Haider’ box office collections overseas have also been mediocre, at Rs 2.91 crore, with biggest business of Rs 1.2 crore from UAE-GCC region.
