Sebi Restrains BSE Broker From Trading For 2 Yrs

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has restrained The Stock Exchange, Mumbai (BSE)s broker Yashwant A Thakkar from dealing in securities for two years with immediate effect.

The market regulator has passed an order against Thakkar in the case of Elvis India Ltd under section 11 of the Sebi act 1992, Sebi said in a release here on Tuesday.

Sebi has warned another BSE member Pramod Kumar Jain for his conduct while dealing in Morpen Laboratories Ltds scrip and asked him to act professionally and maintain confidentiality about client transactions, the release said.

Sebi has also cancelled the registeration of Hyderabad Stock Exchange broker MK Securities Ltd under Sebi act in the case of Maruti Organics Ltd, it added.
