SC notice to Rama Raju on CBI plea

The Supreme Cou rt on Monday asked former Satyam managing director B Rama Raju, former Satyam CFO V Srinivas and three others, accused in the Rs 7,000-crore accounting fraud in the IT firm, as to why their bails should not be cancelled.

Rama Raju and eight others were arrested last year after the former admitted to fudging of the accounts of the IT company. A Bench headed by Justice Dalveer Bhandari issued notices to the five accusedRama Raju, Srinivas and three former employees G Ramakrishna, Venkatapathi Raju and Ch Srisailamon a petition filed by the CBI. The court issued notice after solicitor general Gopal Subramanium, appearing for CBI, sought cancellation of their bail on the grounds that the accused could derail the trial by influencing 230 witnesses.
