The Supreme Court has asked the Haryana government to approve a three-pronged action plan and its implementation for a complete end to illegal mining in eco-sensitive Aravali Hills within three weeks. The government has to file a status report before the court by May 9, the next date of hearing.

A division bench comprising YK Sabharwal and Justice TK Chatterjee, which took serious note of the continuing illegal mining in Gurgaon district despite a ban on these activities, also issued notice to the Rajasthan government on an application alleging illegal mining in Aravali Hills in Alwar district.
