SBI Cards is largest Visa card issuer

"In the short span of 38 months since its launch, SBI Cards has leveraged State Bank of Indias distribution network, GE Capitals expertise in risk management and product development and Visas worldwide reach to issue around 900,000 credit cards in 41 cities and towns across India," a company statement said here.

Mr Iqbal Singh, CEO, SBI Cards and payment services Ltd said, "SBI Cards has rapidly grown to become the number 1 Visa card issuer through its commitment to a customer-focused strategy. We have reached beyond the metros, into tier-2 towns and cities."

SBI Cards adopted a long-term strategy to set industry benchmarks in customer service, supported with the use of state-of-the-art technology and the widest customer support and distribution network in the country.

Mr James Murray, executive vice-president, South-East Asia, Visa International, said, "SBI Cards tremendous distribution network and reach have helped more people enjoy the convenience and security of using credit cards in India, especially in non-metrocities." PTI
