Satyam Ups Its Brand Value To Rs 3,200 Cr

Satyam Computer Services Limited (SCSL) has registered a 40 per cent increase in its brand value at Rs 3,199.65 crore ($655.53 million) for the fiscal ended March 31, 2002 as against Rs 2,274.54 crore achieved in the previous fiscal.

The brand value has been arrived after evaluating the last three years profit before tax, financial charges, non-branded income, adjusted profit for brand valuation, inflation compound factor, present value of profits for the brand, weightage factor, weighted profit, etc.

Similarly, the companys economic value-added income has also sharply grown to Rs 170.11 crore in 2002 as against Rs 167.42 crore in the previous year.

Likewise, the enterprise value has shown a remarkable increase at Rs 8545.06 crore as against Rs 6749.01 crore last year.

As per the brand valuation, the profit before tax and financial charges put together were higher at Rs 534.85 crore for the year ended March 31, 2002 as against Rs 370.25 crore for the year ended March 31, 2002.

It was Rs 181.53 crore at the end of March 31, 2001.

The present value of profits for the brand was higher at Rs 520.18 crore as against Rs 374.62 crore in the previous year and it was Rs 187.44 crore in the year 2000.

Satyam Computer has been witnessing phenomenal growth in its brand value for the last few years.

The brand value was Rs 139.86 crore in 1997-98 touching Rs 517.83 crore in 1998-99.

The brand value of the IT major improved three-fold at Rs 1517.62 crore in 1999-2000.
