Salman Khan-starrer ‘Kick’ has become one of the biggest releases till date in terms of box office collections. The hype of a Salman Khan movie has definitely converted into big numbers, with the film generating Rs 83.83 crore in box office in the first three days of its release.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, ‘Kick’ had a spectacular weekend with Friday’s box office collections at Rs 26.50 crore, followed by Rs 27.15 crore on Saturday and Rs 30.18 crore on Sunday, capping a remarkable opening weekend for the movie. This makes ‘Kick’ the sixth in the top opening weekend grosser list after Dhoom 3 (Rs 107.61 crore), Chennai Express (100.42 crore), ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (Rs 100.16 crore), Ra.One (Rs 92 cr) and Salman Khan’s 2011 film ‘Bodyguard’ (Rs 88.75 crore). As mentioned in our earlier report, Salman’s crackling chemistry with co-star Jacqueline Fernandez besides the catchy music helped ‘Kick’ emerge as the biggest opener of 2014 with box office collections of Rs 26.40 crore, beating Sallu’s previous release ‘Jai Ho’, which collected Rs 17.55 crore. In fact, ‘Kick’ has also emerged as the fourth biggest grosser of all time, after Aamir Khan’s ‘Dhoom 3’ (Rs 36.22 crore), Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chennai Express’ (Rs 33.12 crpre) and Salman’s own ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (Rs 32.93 crore), while overshadowing Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Krrish 3’ (Rs 25.50 crore).

Apart from the domestic market, ‘Kick’ also made a fabulous start abroad, specially in the USA-Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand markets.
