Failed South Korean personal computer maker Trigem Computer Inc., up for auction after it filed for protection from creditors last year, has attracted about 10 potential bidders, a company spokesman said.

Local media said Lenovo Group Ltd., China's top PC maker and the world industry number three, was among the would-be bidders, and that the court had estimated the company's value at 200 billion to 250 billion won ($209 million-$261 million).

The court will receive bids on September 27 and plan to name a preferred bidder on September 29, said the spokesman, who added that about 10 companies had sent letters of intent to bid.

Yonhap News reported that Lenovo was considering buying Trigem, citing an unnamed source at the Chinese firm.

Korea Economic Daily said Japanese PC maker MCJ Co. Ltd. had also shown interest.
