Mohanty, at the annual conference of the National Federation of Auditors in Puri on Wednesday, said that illegal transportation of minerals in 18 divisions of the Indian Railways has been estimated at Rs 17,000 crore. He said he has already submitted two reports on illegal transportation of minerals in Orissa, West Bengal and Jharkhand. According to him, politicians, bureaucrats and middlemen in the three states are involved in this scam. In Orissa, mining companies and traders have
