Revenues Of BI Cos In India To Touch $10.5 M By March 03

The revenues of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions companies in India is slated to touch $10.5 million at the end of current fiscal 2002 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 33.9 per cent to touch revenue of $30.4 million in 2005, according to a report titled Business Intelligence Report India 2001-2008.

The highlights of the report were jointly releasedby Frost and Sullivan and SAS on Wednesday.

SAS has emerged as the leader in the Indian BI application market, according to the report, and has a market share of 22.5 per cent. It also has a top-of-mind recall at 70 per cent for the year 2001, says the report which is based on end-user research and provides information on the emergence and evolution of BI trends and tools in India, cutting across verticals from 2001-2008.

Frost & Sullivan director India operations Aditya Sapru said that the market for BI in India has immense potential for growth, with demand being fuelled by large and medium-sized organisations and MNCs across verticals.

This, he explained, was a result of an increasing need for solutions that provide easy access to swelling database, that can predict trends and perform analysis, the results of which impact overall profitability.

He says,Further, the datawarehousing market in India is rapidly gaining momentum.
