Reliance Banking Fund Extends Issue Close Date By A Day

The countrys first-ever banking sector scheme Reliance Banking Fund, housed under Reliance Capital Mutual Fund has extended its issue closing date by a day to May 22, 2003. This was to accommodate the day lost on account of the strike called by government workers across India on Wednesday. Employees from state-run banks have also joined the strike.

A Reliance Capital MF official said: The Reliance Banking Fund issue, which was supposed to close on

May 21, 2003, has been extended by a day till May 22, 2003, to make up for the day lost due to strike called by the state-run bank workers on Wednesday. The issue opened on May 8, 2003.

The Reliance Banking Fund is an open-ended equity scheme, investing primarily in equities and equity-linked instruments of banks.
