Gold prices fell by Rs 20 to R27,300 per 10 grams on sustained selling by stockists on sluggish demand amid a weakening global trend.

However, silver held steady at R41,500 a kg in restricted buying from industrial units and coin makers. The sentiment in gold remained bearish as the metal traded near its lowest level since September, 2010 in global markets. They said the metal declined in global markets as investors weighed the prospect of reduced monetary stimulus by the US Federal Reserve and slower growth in China.

Chennai to host seafood show

Foreign and domestic companies in the seafood sector will exhibit their equipment, products and services during the three-day international show in Chennai, starting January 10 next year. Marine Products Export Development Authority in

association with the Seafood Exporters Association of India is organising the 19th India International Seafood Show. "All top international and domestic companies will exhibit their equipments, products, services etc along with a technical session in which many world renowned experts on seafood sector will participate," an official statement said. An early bird scheme with 25% discount on normal rates will be available for those who register on or before September 30.
