BlackBerry has run out of stock of its touchscreen smartphone Z10 in India in about a weeks time after it slashed the handsets price by about 60% to R17,990 in two steps from its launch price of R43,490. We have seen great response to the commemorative offer for BlackBerry Z10 and it is true that we have been stocked out, Blackberry spokesperson said in response to PTIs e-mail query. BlackBerry had launched Z10 about a year ago for R43,990.

Convergys completes $820-m Stream buy

BPM major Convergys on Tuesday said it has completed the acquisition of Stream Global Services, which will help the US-based firm strengthen its position in the $55-billion outsourced customer management services industry. The acquisition expands the Cincinnati, Ohio-based firms geographic footprint and capabilities.

TCS, Microsoft Business Solutions team up

TCS has entered a new partnership with Microsoft Business Solutions at the annual Microsoft Dynamics Convergence conference. TCS and MBS will collaborate on the development of online and on-premise versions of Microsoft Dynamics CRM. As part of this deal, TCS has developed a development centre that will support the upcoming releases and updates to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Roadmap, namely Mira and Leo.

Renu Sud Karnad resigns from United Spirits board

United Spirits (USL) has announced that one of its independent directors, Renu Sud Karnad, who is managing director of HDFC, has resigned from its board stating thather presence on the board of HDFC Bank does not allow the latter to conduct business with USL in a meaningful way. She has been with USLs board for the last seven months.

Jet launches Bangalore-Abu Dhabi flight

Jet Airways on Tuesday launched a direct flight from Bengaluru to Abu Dhabi, the airline said in a release. The full-service airline will now operate a daily direct flight to the Gulf capital. This new flight will further strengthen Jet Airways international network in the Gulf region, enhancing flight connectivity beyond Abu Dhabi to immediate Gulf countries and to destinations in North America, Africa and Europe, the airline said.

Rolls-Royce to launch Ghost Series II by year end

British ultra luxury car maker Rolls-Royce will introduce its latest product Ghost Series II in India during the October-December period this year to expand its portfolio. The super luxury car, which is an upgrade of its existing Ghost model, was unveiled at Geneva Motor Show on Tuesday and will hit the roads across different countries in coming months. The Ghost Series II will be introduced here during the fourth quarter of 2014 calender year, a company source in India told PTI.
