Worlds largest steel producer ArcelorMittal has got possession of about 1,827 acre for the proposed six-million tonne plant in Karnataka. The company said in its annual report that it expects to get the remaining 972 acre by May for the R30,000-crore project.

CK Birla Group firm National Engineering Industries (NEI) is in an advanced stage of making an overseas acquisition for which it has earmarked up to $50 million, a company official said. At present, the firm is engaged in talks with 5-6 European and American companies for a possible takeover.

Indsur Global to invest R200 cr for expansion

Casting and auto-component maker Indsur Global plans to invest around R200 crore over the next few years to fund its expansion plans, including doubling of capacity at its plants in Vadodara, Aurangabad and China. The company produces a wide range of steel pipes, wires, castings and copper wire rods.
