Printing, Imaging Sector Joins Outsourcing Trend, Says HP Official

If outsourcing is the solution for companies to be able to focus on their core competencies, then this trend has now been extended to the printing and the imaging sector as well. According to a visiting Hewlett-Packard (HP) official, Ford globally had outsourced its printing and imaging to HP in order to focus on their core competencies and a similar trend is being witnessed in India as well.

According to Mr Larry Tracy, who is Hewlett-Packard marketing manager, Enterprise Imaging & Printing, Imaging and Printing Group, we are witnessing similar request from our customers here, but this has yet to be implemented.

Asked if India would be considered as a destination for outsourcing any of the requirements from printing and imaging sector, Mr Tracy indicated that the company has centres spread across nine destinations in Asia and Europe. India is one of them and is an important place to consider.

Commenting on India and China, Mr Tracy said that the the marketplace in these regions have been growing and with the English speaking workforce, these regions offer lots of opportunities for the companys products.

Hewlett-Packard unveiled the next chapter in HP imaging and printing with an expanded products, solutions and services portfolio. These offerings promise as much as a 30 per cent cost reduction in operating and managing their imaging and printing environment.
