Pistachio prices up on short supplies

Barring a rise in Pistachio, dry prices of dry fruits ruled steady on the wholesale market in the absence of any good activity.

Arrivals and offtake was negligible, which reduced the volume of business.

Traders said increased buying by stockists against restricted arrivals mainly pushed up pistachio prices.

Pistachio Harri and peshwari prices went up at Rs 450- 480 and Rs 490-510 against last close of Rs 430-475 and Rs 485-500 per kilo respectively.

Following were today's quotations in Rs per 40 kgs bag: Almond (California) new 8,100 Almond (gurbandi) 5,200 Almond (girdhi) 3,100, Almond kernel (California) 285-290 Almond kernel (gurbandi) (kg) 275-350 and Abjosh Afghani 7,000-11,000.
