Pace India sets up Pace Embedded Systems Lab at R.V. College of Engineering

Pace India is a key Global Engineering Centre of Pace plc, UK. Based at Bangalore, Pace India executes projects for its global customers in the pay-TV industry. With more than 250 engineers, it has world-class capabilities in the field of Digital Television and Embedded Systems.

Pace India has set up a state-of-the-art Pace Embedded Systems Lab at R.V. College of Engineering on the 14th of October, 2009. This lab will be used by the graduate and post-graduate engineering students of the college in various disciplines such as Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Information Sciences, etc. As part of their curriculum, they will now be able to use this lab to gain an in-depth understanding of Digital Television and experience this cutting-edge technology first hand. They will also get a chance to interact with the technical community at Pace and learn from their vast experience.

Chief Operating Officer of Pace plc, David McKinney, said on the occasion, We are setting up this lab with the intention of giving back something to society. Our lab will provide practical experience to nearly 5000 engineering students of this college. Furthermore, outstanding graduates who build competence in Digital Television technology will be given an opportunity to join the Pace family. To date, we have hired 14 students from this prestigious college.

R. V. College of Engineering, Bangalore, is among the top-ten private engineering colleges in India. Prof. K.N. Raja Rao, principal of the college, added that the purpose of the collaboration between Pace India and our college is to provide facilities for academic work in the field of Digital Television; thereby enabling students to be ready for the industry when they graduate. It also provides an opportunity for joint research in this area.
